Review: Rock solid on two long projects so far - ****bought this in 2020. I believe it’s critical to do the firmware update when you receive it or it may not work right. I recall that it took a few attempts to get the update to work so follow instructions carefully. Following that, I bought a 128gig mini SD and mounted the cam inside the enclosure up in a tree for two constriction projects. The first build lasted almost a year. Every two weeks or so I’d climb a ladder and pull out the SD card, get the footage, and replace the batteries. I think the batteries and SD would have gone quite a bit longer but I didn’t want to lose any days. Today I finished the footage on the second build. Both times the cam worked flawlessly. Crisp time lapse footage!

Checked on it for the first couple of days, all seemed fine. I had a recording for each day. All seemed okay. Decided to leave it for a few weeks, when I went to download the videos, all but the last day was missing. I now have missed all of the ground preparation and foundation work for the project. They claim it is "set and forget", well it isn't. Now my video record of the project is so woefully incomplete, and the camera is still missing multiple days of the project, I am considering abandoning the project. What a waste of time and money!!! Please pass on the Brinno cameras and find a better, more reliable camera for your long term video projects. Reached out to Brinno for support after the first time I missed several days of activity. Never heard anything from them. Now it is too late. Complete loss!

**Q: How do i get the camera to record jpeg images not just avi files?**
A: I’ve not figured out how to do this yet, but I personally set the play back speed at one frame for second, and hit print screen at the appropriate time in the video.  This is the only real problem with this camera, that it really needs an option to actually save time lapse images, not time lapse video.

**Q: Does my Brinno camera have the latest firmware?**
A: Before using your camera we recommend you check and update the firmware on your device at: www.brinno.com

**Q: Can you do live stream when the camera is going?**
A: No, otherwise your best option would be cctv. 
Brinno is a low energy consumption time laps camera not for live streaming purposes.

**Q: How do you retrieve the images? You have to climb up and get the sd card? Is there an app available that wirelessly connects and provides status?**
A: Yes, you will need to pull the micro SD card out. However, since the battery lasts for a year you wont need to check it too often
