I bought this because I needed a 4k splitter that also extracts audio. Out of the box the 3.5mm stereo audio socket was defective. The lands inside the socket that are supposed to press against the jack do not. When a jack is inserted there is no tension or snap into place, nor does it reliably make an electrical connection. Since the box will be stationary I was able to get it to work by using a rubber band to hold the jack at an angle.As for the electrical design, the box gives off a wicked ground hum. My claim that this is a defect is that the ability to switch 4K HDMI signals, split them to multiple outputs, and individually downsample outputs requires a design that is electrically clean and noise-free. And yet - massive hum. Nothing a $10 ground loop isolator won't fix but the ad for this device touts the aluminum case and clean design and doesn't mention that is it unfit for purpose without an external dongle hanging off the side.That said, after adding the rubber band and the ground loop isolator it works as advertised and for that I give it a couple of stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed. *by V***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2019* I love this product.
