As for the sturdiness of this plate, not sure yet. My 5 yr old loved looking at it and going through the food groups and importance of each.  It was a great guide for mom on portion sizes.

I haven't purchased this item, but just reading the description I had to write a review.Juvenile Diabetes (aka Type 1 Diabetes) is in no way, shape or form, related to diet.  Juvenile Diabetes is an auto-immune disease with no known trigger, or cure.  Eating too much of any particular food does NOT cause Juvenile Diabetes.Type 2 Diabetes is often called a 'life style' disease where the body still creates insulin but isn't able to properly use it.  Sometimes, but not always, this can be due to bad diet and a sedentary lifestyle.Please update your description. This is inaccurate and misleading.

I like this product because it helps me show my kids what and how much they should/should not be eating.  The only downside is the price, which is why I only bought one to "display."  The kids can model their regular plates off of this plate.
