Activating it on the phone with T-Moble is easy enough. You will need to tell them the devices IMEI number, the zip code where service will be used, and the SIM Card Number printed on the SIM card. They charge a $5 activation fee along with the first month's payment for whatever data plan you choose. The minimum you could choose is a 2GB/month plan for $10/month with automatic activation. (I wish I had read the details on the product more closely. I made the mistake of seeing some value in "pre-paid". There is NOTHING PRE-PAID about this card. Plus the customer service seems a bit sketchy. On my first call I didn't have the IMEI device number. When I explained that I'd have to call back, the tech tried several different ways to press me for the SIM card number and other details to speed up the process when I called in again. That seemed odd since he wasn't able to create an account for me in the system without all of the information and the $5 activation fee.
