If you're an active person really trying to help your neck, shoulders, and back out, this probably won't help much. The product is not small, but it won't be quite big enough for a lot of people. I'm a 5'10" male and I definitely wish it reached farther down my back. If you're in your mid 5's or lower, the size is likely fine. The weight of the product feels really good, and it will stay where you want it to stay. This product retains neither heat or cold for very long. You can have it in your freezer over night and the cold will disappear in a handful of minutes. In fact, for both heat and cold, the instructions that come with the product claim it is only good for 1.5 to 2 minutes. Claimed cooling time is 2 hours in the freezer and 60 seconds in the microwave (but you must wait 12 minutes before heating again). In my experience, the cold seems to last somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes (I usually have the product in the freezer over night, which is where I store it) and the heat seems to last around the advertised 2 minutes. One side of the product has a much softer fabric. I assume that side is intended to rest on the skin. That side is never hot and never cold. It's not a big deal because you can use the other side, but it's pointless to have that side covered with that fabric. The company that sells this product seems to be a genuinely nice company. The product is packaged with a nice note. It is also packaged with instructions. The instructions are printed on a thicker paper (like poster board) for durability. I've not contacted their customer service, but based on the rest of my experience I'm going to assume their service is good. As previously stated, if you're a smaller person and your soreness is mild, you may find this product useful. If you're an active person and really trying to help your muscles, this isn't the product for you. I was going to rate the product a 3, but I've rated the product a 4 because it does not advertise itself for athletes or very active people.
