Review: Great quality - I don't really write many reviews for things but I felt that this time it was a must. I bought these little speakers after buying a sound bar from desertcart for about £15. Sadly when it arrived I unpacked it and threw away the packaging. It was a massive disappointment because the only thing that worked on it were the multi coloured lights it was like a child's fairground ride minus the music. I couldn't send it back because all of the packaging was gone and postage costs from where I live didn't justify the amount compared to the price of the soundboard. I really wasn't expecting too much when I ordered these tiny twin speakers despite reading the reviews. But happily I was so wrong in my negative thinking. They are literally plug in and play. The minute I plugged them in and heard a little crackle when the jack went in. So I didn't want to get too excited but I immediately went on to ITunes and tested a song. They have great sound and are small enough to sit under the moniter either side. The volume control is easy and it's no worse than having an on /off switch on a lamp. The lights at the bottom are pretty inoffensive compared to the non working soundboard and I don't think I will be too bothered by them. All in all a great buy for a reasonably low cost. And because I'm old school I just haven't been able to get into the pairing Bluetooth thing that my daughter seems to like. So I've given her back the one she loaned me plus another brand new one I had as a gift. I'm so happy to have music again. Thanks desertcart I may even buy a bacj up pair.
Review: Great and excellent value having compared several others - These are really great. A good weight out of the box, nice and solid, bodes well. Very neat. Cable sufficient for desk. Easy to move about with my laptop. More to that point they sound very good. Clear but not thin. Tidy bass, obviously can't compare with bigger units with separate woofer (like the Creatives I have with a desktop computer). But these have very good sound and enough volume to enjoy the range of music genres I have tried with them today. Having been very disappointed with various returned desk sound bars up to about the £30 level these are in a different league, surprisingly good and just brilliant value. Highly recommended.

**Q: Can anybody test and let me know if the sound is the same IF the speaker is upside down, I am thinking of fixing them under a shelf to save desk space**
A: The quality of sound is still the same, however all the words come out backwards.

**Q: Do these stay silent when not in sue or have a white noise sound?**
A: They do stay silent.
However, Sue gets really noisy...the dirty girl.

**Q: Is there a way of turning off the lights? I find the blue light quite off-putting.**
A: Yes you can, simply unscrew the screws on the base (they’re concealed beneath the foam) remove the base from the speaker to expose the LED wires - simply cut/remove them. Bingo, no blue lights and arguably much better! The wattage is so low you don’t need to worry about any electrical issues.

**Q: Is it possible to turn of the blue neon light or keep it off?**
A: You can disconnect but it will void your warranty. Easy to do though, remove base (a few screws, and cut/insulate either of the two wires going to the LED board, then refit the base.

Good little budget speakers for everyday use These Amazon Basics PC speakers are a good option if you just need a simple, affordable pair of speakers for a desk setup, laptop, or PC. They are not going to replace a proper speaker system, but for the price, they do the job well. They are especially useful if you do not always want to wear headphones while gaming, watching videos, or listening to basic audio. The sound is clear enough for casual use, and they are loud enough for a small room or desk area. I also like the light when they are switched on, as it adds a nice bit of style to the setup rather than making them look completely plain. I have given them 4 stars because they are not perfect. The sound is good for the size and price, but you should not expect deep bass or premium audio quality. They are best for everyday use, not for anyone looking for powerful music speakers. They are wired, and need to be plugged in, so the portability of them is poor. The base of the speaker is stable and comes with grip mats attached.
