I used it to 'alarm' when the door was not fully closed on my LG fridge. The LG alarm is triggered by a switch which will time out when the door is wide open but will not sound if the door is partially closed or at least closed enough to activate the push button. Our LG fridge doors will not fully close unless you actually push then closed---if you just sort of push them toward closing and walk away they may not close fully but will 'almost' close and the LG alarm will not sound.
