They can get wet but don’t submerged them. I have been wearing them for many years and have had all the different colors and the tall as well as ankle height. I don't know the exact details but these were originally made by Converse, and just as good. Out of all the pairs I have had, none have failed me! I wear them until the tread is bald. And I have a hard time letting go of my old worn out boots. I have an old pair in my car, truck and a few in the back of my closet for back up. I have tried many other good brands, but these fit my wide size12 foot the best. I wear them everyday 12+ hours a day.
