I picked this one up and gave it a shot.The first one I received was really whacked. One of the little round grills was missing and there was a giant ding on the headstock.Amazon replaced it and the second one arrived complete and functional. It comes with DAddario acoustic strings on it. I don't know what gauge they are. I replaced them with a set of Martin Marquis that had a little stiffer high E. I mainly play bottle neck on this instrument so I was not concerned about the normal playing action (although I do play some chords).My biggest complaint is the resonater, it does not have much resonater tone. It sounds more like a banjo than a Reso guitar. It sounds better with a metal slide than a glass one but glass is my usual because that's what I've played for 50+ years.If I had it to do over I would not buy it again. The tone is just not really there.Good luck and good music to all!EDIT: I did not have any resonator guitar experience before buying this one as an experiment (btw it's the 35th guitar in my current collection). There are two types of resonator construction, spider and biscuit. This Regal is a spider type. I have not dismantled the cone yet but will soon to see if I can adjust it for a bit more tone. Also there is a screw in the center of the spider which is accessible from the top of the guitar through the chrome cover. On mine the bridge is out of alignment so it's not possible to get to the adjustment screw. Grrrrr. It's pressing me closer to dismantling it and see if I can get it to sound better. I'm having fun so that's all that matters.more soon! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Now this is what i call value *by D***N on December 9, 2014* I played roughly five different brands of resonator guitars before I settled on this one. I liked the sound more than the others and sound was the primary decisive factor but I was able to easily reach the 12th fret on this guitar. On other resonators the body of the guitar hindered my reach to the 12th fret. The fact that this guitar was more reasonably priced was inconsequential but a bonus. I would have paid for the sound and fret reach I was after but this guitar was the least expensive of those I tested. So don’t let the great price fool you this is an awesome guitar. I am very happy with my purchase. ### ⭐ wasn't in working order *by K***G on December 26, 2015* The guitar wasn't playable.
