My cycle length has been a bit varied so I decided to test morning (7am) and evening (7pm) for just over a week leading up to ovulation and a few days after. I used the premom free app to scan and log the tests as well as my watch to confirm my temperature rise, fall then rise. It worked! It took us 10 months for our first and only one this time! Even while still breastfeeding and having an unpredictable cycle. Highly recommend these tests, super affordable so you can test often and get data. The app makes it so easy to check the ratio and confirm ovulation. For the first cycle, it is suggested to perform the test right after the period ends to find the baseline of the LH progression. Test once a day or every other day if two consecutive numbers are very similar. After more than one cycle of consecutive testing, you can do less testing and start 3~5 days earlier than the predicted peak day. If your test line is getting darker and you may be closer to ovulation, it is recommended to test twice a day. So for me I could have tested every day twice a day and got nothing and then the next day my line would have been darker than the test line and stayed like that that day, but then the day after it would have been back to nothing. I also used the pregnancy tests and they showed a faint positive at only 7 days post ovulation! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for regular cycles and the app is amazing - costly if you have long cycles *by A***. on 1 August 2025* I got this set because my cycles have been all over the place and my doctor isn’t even sure I’m ovulating due to hormonal imbalances. I used the strips for about 15 days straight but didn’t get an LH surge. That month ended up being my longest cycle ever at 63 days so it makes sense that I didn’t catch anything by day 25. I stopped using them after that as I would have needed a second box and it starts getting expensive if your cycles are unpredictable like mine. The strips themselves are easy to use and accurate, and I love that they sync with the Premom app. The app is free and works as a calendar where you can log periods, symptoms, and more. It even gives you an LH ratio based on how dark the lines are in your test photos, and plots everything on a graph. I tested it in different lighting to see how it handled variations and it was surprisingly consistent. Honestly the app alone is worth it. Packaging is very good quality but it doesn’t come with a plastic cup or anything to pee in which would’ve been helpful. I haven’t repurchased yet but plan to once my cycles become more regular so I can test over a shorter window.
