I have the Hitachi (now Metabo) 12 inch sliding miter saw.** A: I don't know anything about your specific saw but I can tell you that on my saw I can't use the stick without using the extension wings. What I do is pull out the sliding extension wing and put one end of the stick on it. If your plate of the extension wing is not wide enough to safely hold the stick I would put a block of wood on the rails to make sure it is stable enough to hold the stick safely. I do it this way and I feel safe doing it you have to do what makes you feel safe! Nahhhhh it’s a great gadget, surprisingly bigger than expected, but in a good way, gives you great grip on your smaller wooden bits, so I can say with confidence that I’m glad I went a head an bought this, won’t be used everyday, but I’m glad I now have it for when I do need it.
