I was incredibly nervous about the trampoline taking flight after a friend warned me of their experience during a tornado that led to expensive repairs on their neighbors walls mere days after buying their first trampoline. I bought 2 sets for extra security and we installed 2 on most trampoline legs and one on only a couple trampoline legs (versus one on every other leg). This trampoline has been through so many tornados and high wind storms it’s not even funny and it has NOT budged. We have moved houses twice and they’re still very sturdy with only a little bit of bending them back required. We now live on a lot that’s mostly rock, we have moved it around the yard and staked it back down again twice to find the best location for the water to run off and not pool (kids love the trampoline sprinkler). It lived through yet another tornado here at our new house that was literally right on top of our home and it did not move an inch. Are they meant to be installed over the "feet" of the trampoline's legs?** A: I have a Skywalker 15' trampoline (ATC15G). The instructions that came with the trampoline say, "Tie the trampoline frame down to the ground using ropes and stakes (not included). At least three ropes and three stakes should be used. Make sure to attach the ropes to the top of the trampoline frame: do not simply secure the legs or the bases to the ground as they can separate from the frame sockets. The tops of the stakes should be at ground level so that they will not create a tripping hazard. In addition, the tops of the stakes should be covered, if necessary, so that users will not be hurt by falling onto the stakes."So, I guess you're supposed to get some rope to tie the stakes to the top of the trampoline frame. I imagine it's also good to put the stakes into the ground at an angle, like you do with tent stakes, to make it harder for the ropes to pull them out. **Q: can this trampoline be used on a large patio or do you have to have it on grass** A: In Arizona, I have the skywalker 14' camouflage trampoline on a gravel landscape but dug 1/2 inch ground and it is very sturdy. The trampoline hasn’t even moved an inch since I put them in. The trampoline sits in a hill. We have had straight line winds, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. Never moves. In December, we bought a tent like outdoor sauna. I bought these again to replace the stakes that came with the kit. We had a blizzard with 50mph winds the other day. Trampoline and sauna didn’t move.
