THE PAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. Legend Cookware's cast iron deep skillet with lid is a must-have for the serious home cook. Made from premium seasoned iron and steel, both the base and lid have a 9.5" diameter, with a 5" & 2" handles. The pot is roughly 3 inches deep, with a 3 quart volume. The lid doubles as a 1 inch deep pan. It's the perfect 3-in-1 heavy duty workhorse for every kitchen! You can cook just about anything with a cast iron set, on any surface! This pot - frying pan makes a great small dutch oven substitute for baking sourdough bread, deep frying fried chicken, and, as the original slow cooker, making soups and stews. Saute veggies and more in the lid. Goes from stovetop to oven to grill to campfire. Works on all cooktop types: electric, , induction and glass top. Cleaning Instructions: Allow cast iron to cool completely, then just wipe away any excess oil, or crumbs with a paper towel. For any clingy bits, gently scrub away with warm water and a natural bristle brush. Only use a gentle, non-lye based detergent. Dry for 20 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 400°F. Seasoning Instructions: The oil and from each use should renew and preserve the seasoning. If it needs wholescale renewing, work high heat tolerant vegetable oil or lard into the cooking surface after cleaning. Leave pan in preheated 400°F oven for 20 minutes, remove and wipe out excess.
