    Sailing the globe in detail...

Great read. Well thought out storyline and excellent character development. However, be advised that this novel is all about sailing and you will have  a rather sharp learning curve if you are not up to par on nautical terminology, especially that dealing with a sailboat. There's plenty of suspense to keep you busy and turning pages. Also, there are excellent educational experiences included regarding geography, especially areas in the Persian Gulf region, and the politics of the high seas. This novel is a mind-bending journey that will entertain and strain you, rest assured. Happy reading to you.

This is one of my all-time favorite books.  I bought this copy of it so I could destroy it by cutting the binding off with my jigsaw, scanning the loose pages, and converting it to an eBook so I could read it (re-read it, actually, for about the 10th time) on my Kindle.  On the small chance that anybody cares, here is the procedure:1) Remove binding2) Scan the loose pages. (Fujitsu fi-6130 scanner, 60 pages per minute)3) Save as PDF file.4) Use OCR program (ABBY PDF Transformer) to convert to RTF file.5) Proof and correct RTF file in MS-Word. (optional)6) Use Calibre to convert RTF file to *.mobi and send to Kindle.If you skip step 5, the whole procedure, including using the jigsaw to cut off the binding, can be done in about 15 minutes.  Yeah, I know, I'm weird.  But I prefer reading on the Kindle to reading on paper.
