Fitment to my Gorsky 10x42 binoculars is perfect. Takes all of 1 min to mount and install on my tripod. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking to use a binocular for range or field use. It works pretty well, so far I did not have any issue (I use it with a dolica tripod) **Q: Is there a threaded hole on the bottom of this adapter to allow it to be mounted to the tripods quick release plate?** A: Yes, but be aware that the thread is very deep, plus there's padding that increases the distance. Does not work with my Dolica G100 QR stock plates, because the screw isn't long enough. Other adapters work fine. **Q: Is adapter made of metal? What is the diameter of the knob and diameter of cylindrical section in front of the knob which the screw passes through?** A: Sturdy metal. No idea what the diameter of the cynlindrical section in front of the knob is but it fits my binoculars snugly with no jiggles or concerns. **Q: will this fit on my bushnell 10x42 hd binoculars the gap is pretty small** A: I mounted it to My Bushnell Legend Ultra 10X42. The mounting screw knob does fit inside of the housing, however is a little long, so the binocular pivots along the longitudinal. It's the first time I've ever mounted binoculars like this so I do not know if that is common. This Barska mount works for both Bushnell models (it connects to the mounting screw interface located on the front of each binocular body, and will connect them to a standard tripod using a 1/4"-20 UNC screw. The mount itself is made of metal and feels very solid in the hand (no cheap plastic crap!). It provides a solid and steady attachment to the tripod, which is important when you are mounting a quality optical instrument and need a solid connection to the tripod.
