Product Description Varathane Ultimate Water-Based Spar Urethane provides a crystal clear, protective coating for exterior wood surfaces with long lasting durability. Self leveling polyurethane seals out water and offers superior resistance to scratches, mold, mildew, weather and UV damage with easy soap and water clean up. Apply a minimum of 4 coats of non yellowing poly for maximum protection on outdoor projects. From the Manufacturer Varathane Crystal Clear Spar Urethane provides maximum UV protection to guard against sun damage.

Review: Great Product - Easy stuff to use. No stickyness. I was able to cover the deck twice. I painted the deck because it had never been painted or treated so the wood was so ugly and porous. Old decks over at least 10 years have to be painted solid, not transparent because the deck was in a bad weathered condition because, it had never been sealed or treated. So with deck paint and urethane it looks a lot better. It does not yellow great value for the money and very easy to use. I used a roller. Great and would definitely order it again.

I did about 4 coats with a spray gun and the results were fantastic. On of the best features of this product is the quick and easy cleanup. A bit of soap and water and a quick rinse with warm tap water and you're done--no solvents or lacquer thinner needed. 5 st*****s! I'm adding photos of before and after. very happy with the results.

**Q: I am looking for something to topcoat on bass lures i paint. What is the best least expensive coating should I use ?**
A: I have never used on this type of material.  You might try it on something similar and see if you get the results you want.  I sue it to cover model airplanes and it is good for this purpose.

**Q: Can this be used on bathroom under sink cabinet edges where stain is being touched up due to water removing stain? Will it hold up to water splashing?**
A: Yes it should.  It's a spar varnish and is made to hold up against water.  I would put at least 3 coats on if not more.

**Q: Can I use this product on painted metal?**
A: Yes, I think it would work fine on painted metal

**Q: can it be sprayed?**
A: Don’t thin a water based finish with paint thinner

Easy stuff to use. No stickyness. I was able to cover the deck twice. I painted the deck because it had never been painted or treated so the wood was so ugly and porous.
