After burying ab alive, the Pharaoh curses him to live out 50 lifetimes entombed beneath the Egyptian sands. Fast forward to the present day, ab's tomb is discovered by archaeologists who unknowingly release his evil on an unsuspecting planet! .com ---- Twelve-year-old Presley is the unknowing reincarnation of a murdered Egyptian prince. Coincidentally, his mom works at a San Francisco museum hosting a mummy exhibit, which allows his centuries-old archenemy ab and his four guardians to contact him. The first four episodes of this 1997 syndicated series from DIC have been compiled in this feature-length movie. With titles "Ra Ra Ra Ra," " Walk Like an Egyptian," "Pack to the Future," and "The Gift of Geb," the writers combine pun-filled humor and action. They have fun with the culture shock experienced by the mummies-come-to-life (the TV is a "spirit box," a car is a "swift chariot"), as well as the requisite centerpiece battle in each episode. Presley, his four preserved protectors (including girl warrior Nefer-Tina voiced by the ubiquitous Cree Summer), and a mummified cat share a pleasant camaraderie, while the villains are predictably depraved.
