The book I received was a third edition (2016 copyright). It does not follow a weekly schedule, but instead goes thru a ten day rotation (day 1, day 2,...day 10. Then day 1, day 2,...day 10.) I'm not sure why they went with ten day rotations instead of a weekly rotation, but it doesn't really bother us. I am very impressed with the book! My son does not enjoy school work, but this book is laid out in a manner that is challenging yet not frustrating. A little math here, a story there, write a book report, learn some core values, dabble in history, chart some numbers, journal about your week, exercise, do a science experiment, participate in any of the listed family or individual activities, and your golden! My son views it more as a summer activity book, rather then a learning book. I love the list of activities and family time activities that they list. It's not easy to think of things for your kids to do 24/7, and all the suggestions are things that cost no or very little money. (Ex. Learn to juggle, write a silly poem, drop crumbs by an ant hill and see what happens...) I'm a little disappointed that only some of the rotations include suggested reading lists, I was really looking forward to using those every week. I mean I can look up books on my own, but it would have just been easier to just use their list. I'm just lazy like that. ;) We have purchased other summer workbooks before, but Summer Fit is by far our favorite. I highly recommend!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Review for Summer *by M***A on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2011* Last summer I spent hours finding homework for my kids to do all summer. This year I reviewed this product on my book review blog and was really impressed. The skills are a little too easy for my son, but it is a good review and keeps his mind active over the summer. I really like the physical activity every day as well, and I like the once a week value lesson. I am glad that all the books are coordinated so I can sit down with all my kids on Fri. and we can discuss the value together. The pages don't take too long to do each day, but long enough that they get some needed practice. I definitely recommend the Summer Fit books. The website is supposed to have some more challenging activities, but I haven't made the time to check it out yet. (I purchased the K-1, the 2-3, and the 3-4 books and like them all so far.) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great summer tool *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2013* I really like these books for several reasons; they give a value for the week that you can incorporate into family discussions or activities, the exercise assignments give options and there is a guide of all kinds of different exercises and how to do them at the beginning of the book, kids only have to complete one worksheet (front and back) each day to complete their week, at this grade level you can set an incentive for the week and there is a chart to keep track of progress for the week - it helps motivate the younger kids.Get this book before the first day of summer to allow yourself to read the first few pages that set you up to use the books and plan on using some of the other resources that are online if you choose.This is my second year buying these books for three different age groups.
