I didn't have any problem connecting it to my device for Bluetooth purposes. I have not tested the battery life and will updates this review if it does not meet the product specs. As far as loudness, I don't think it's going to be loud enough for what I needed. May e in different situations and area. For example, some ways of using Bluetooth gives you a better sound quality. I use YouTube to play music so I have to choose carefully so I get the best and loudest channel. I think outdoors it may be a little soft with all the outside noise interferences. For the price I paid, I can't complain. This is perfect for my husband who will probably leave it somewhere and it will get stolen. The only problem is one of the cones on the mid range speaker vibrates a little if the volume is over half way. It's not a loud speaker so do not expect to take it out in the backyard when you are having a party and expect to hear it very well. It works great in my home and at my office where the volume is below half. The FM radio signal kind of sucks. But you get what you pay for. Besides I wanted it for Bluetooth and to run my iPod and for that it works very well. The sound is clear the base is good for its size.
