The new clamp will not work with these hones. I can only get the 25 or 30 degree and I have to have the blade held so closed to the spine that the blade will shift while it is being honed. The new rubber they added to the clamp helps but after the pressure of the honing and some honing oil gets the blade moving.I have the sharpest multi-angle clamp now. I could use it to scrap window stickers, cut open boxes, or use as a razor blade. The hones do there job.They need to change the clamp design again so their "Curved Blade Hones Set" will hit the bevel of the blade and not the clamp. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A certain advantage for hook blades. *by D***N on October 25, 2022* This incorporates right into my existing Lansky gear, making it an easy upgrade. I will echo the reviews that say the stones are soft, especially in the finer grades. I would suggest using a trailing stroke, but I can see that these will wear out a bit quicker due to their shape. I wonder why Lansky doesn’t offer a true stone, I have to imagine they would be very expensive, but superior to the corundum type used. Worth the purchase for the ease and effect, even if you have to be a somewhat gentle with the stroke. ### ⭐ Absoutley not up to Lansky’s normal quality!!! I would not buy these again. *by D***N on February 9, 2019* The coarseand extra coarse two hold up and do a good within their range. The medium and fine are little more than hardened chalk. I tried to sharpen ONE knife and the medium and fine grits were worn down to much to use. Also, they did not put an edge on my knife. Not even a workable edge. The coarse and extra coarse put a rough edge on my knife. However, when I tried the medium and fine grits they wore away so fast that I removed about 1/8 or a little more of the hone’s surface in just a couple minutes. And this was a cheap knife I was trying it on. Not one of the super steels.DO NOT BUY THESE!!! They are pure garbage!!!I love Lansky products, but these can’t be from the same factory that produces their other stuff. Even a cheap knife, with low grade steel wore away the chalk-like material that 2 of these these are made of. The 2 coarsest stones do have some use, but do not put a fine, or polished edge on a knife. The 2 finer stones, are useless to me. I ended up using my regular stones after I put the correct angle on the knife with the coarse stones. .That worked reasonably well.These broke my heart.
