I use Adobe Premiere for editing, so I can't speak of, or review, the editing/burning software.With that said, after a few tweaks in the settings, this device and capture software work solidly. I've been through a couple on here (including brand name equipment) that I can't say the same for. I'm using Windows 10 64bit, and that seems to be an issue with some of the older legacy devices.A couple of tips. Download and install the device driver, and then install it, FIRST. THEN, plug the capture device into your computer. Not much to be said about the capture software, just follow the link they include in the package. Installation is pretty straight forward. Registering is not an issue, as some others on here have complained.If you are getting garbage on the preview, check the input settings. Mine was not defaulted to "Video Composite In" (Composite is if you are using the RCA cable for video. If you are using S-Video cable for your input, change it accordingly)The only quirk I have with this is the preview screen. I wish it was a bit larger. Since analog capture is real time, I like to watch, especially if it's old video that I haven't seen in a while. Always running into problems OS compatibility and software issues. This converter kit has solved all those problems. Works seamlessly for me on my Acer laptop running Windows 10. I rated Tech Support as 5 stars. I have not contacted Tech Support - because the instruction/set up manual is detailed and easy to understand and I didn't need any additional help. I was able to open the box, run setup, hook up my camcorder and start capturning video within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend this capture device. I have not used the editing software. Then once tech support helped me install it manually it worked fine. But then the software continually crashed during recording. So I ended up returning the item. However I would give their tech support 10 stars if I could. Quick response and they stay on it till the problem is fixed. I did not ask for help with the crashing problem because by then I was just disenchanted with the product. But someone with more computer savvy may not have the same experience as me.
