    a wedding ... a new budding romance ... and a terrorist attempt

*by O***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2014*

this book focuses on 3 areas: 1. the wedding of Cam and Blair, 2. the romance between Dana (the sole reporter covering the wedding & the famed couple) & Emory (the talented stem cell doctor/researcher who is a friend of Diane & Blair) and 3. Matheson's (terrorist) attempted kill and capture of Blair. This one has less action & violence until its near conclusion (with the exception of in the middle of the book) and instead focuses mainly on the developing love between the reporter and doctor... even the wedding is less than a focused topic than this main plot. as with each Radclyffe novel, there is plenty of heat between characters, full-span action when the terrorist plot is in full effect and certain love between Cam & Blair, Paula & Renee and Valerie & Diane... and soon by the end -- Emory & Dana. I found myself frustrated when Diane flirted with Dana knowing she was in love with Valerie but quickly realized the woman cannot help herself. as with the prior books, Radclyffe simply will not introduce anything into Cam & Blair's lovemaking that will make it less routine... odd. Nonetheless, decent read... not as good to me as the other books in the series but good enough to keep the momentum of the series intact.

    Loved this book!

*by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2012*

I've read this series twice. It's in my top three favorite series: The Honor Series, The Midnight Hunter series (by Radclyffe as L.L. Raand), and The Elite Operatives Series by Kim Baldwin and Xenia Alexiou. One of the aspects that I really like about this series is that the author introduces new characters as the series goes along. So while you get to read about your favorite characters, Cam and Blair, you also get to see into the other character's worlds as well. As for how the book ends...I'll say this...it could not have ended any other way. Radclyffe got it perfect! If you're reading reviews for this book then you've probably read a couple of the books already, keep going, they're great! And if you haven't started the series...buy the series now...buy all of it, you'll end up buying them anyway because you won't be able to put the books down.

    A waste of money

*by W***L on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2008*

Maybe I read a different version than the previous reviewers? Is there more than one version? Just when I thought this series couldn't get worse....it does. I don't know why I keep hoping that the magic of the first one will return. The book reads more like an outline for a novel, rather than the actual novel, and the ridiculous length of it has nothing to do with it. NOTHING happens.Oh wait. Cameron almost gets blown up (as usual), Blair is hunted (as usual), and the two of them spend a lot of time whining about how much they want to keep each other safe (as usual). If not for those familiar themes, I wouldn't have been sure I was reading a book in the "Honor" series. The book focuses entirely too much on a very minor character that was introduced a few novels ago. And, in my opinion, a not very interesting character at that. Another reviewer said it would be helpful to read the previous novels so you'd know what was going on. I disagree, as the author spends a lot of wasted time on back story, bringing you up to speed on most of what has happened. Besides, since the "main" characters have very little to do with the story, you don't need to know what has happened because the novel is almost all about Doctor Emory and her new love interest. The regular cast is hardly present and that's the worst part.I don't want to ruin the suspense (GUFFAW! In case the sarcasm isn't completely apparent) for anyone, so I won't give away any plot points, but Cameron Roberts needs to be relieved of duty immediately. She is supposed to be the best at what she does, and yet the bad guys always get entirely too close to her and/or Blair. Fortunately for her, the "bad guys" are always so stupid that their evil plan is thwarted with relative ease, and in this particular instance that's doubly so. I admit, when the "climax" happened, my jaw dropped. Not because it was so well written or so unexpected, but for the sheer stupidity of it. It felt like the author got tired or bored or both and came up with the quickest ending she could, and I use the word "ending" very loosely, because this one also leaves the reader hanging. If you can get it for free from your local library and have an hour to kill, go for it. Otherwise, it's a huge waste of money and extremely disappointing.
