Among the best basswood I've purchased. It's light, solid, carves beautifully and all at an excellent price.As long as this quality is available, CAN USA will be my go to source for prepared small carving sticks.Online buyers should beware of other "imported basswood" offerings, that more often than not, are not basswood, linden, or lime wood and are too hard and "chippy" to carve comfortably.

I’m not sure if it’s my knife or this wood but it splinters which is annoying. BUT it could just be that my knife isn’t sharp enough? Other than that it’s perfect for practice I would recommend it for getting started and learning your 4 basic cuts.
