Review: This time makes life much more convenient! - This timer works as advertised & I would it 5 stars for performance. We use it to turn our pool pump filter on & off everyday, and I really LIKE that we can have the app on our phones for convenience, so that we can turn it off no matter where we are, if we know there's a big storm coming. We also use this timer if we have a lot of people in the pool. We can set a countdown timer, which is helpful, to run it for a few more hours than our normal settings, which is on about 9 am & off about 5 pm. The electricians who wired it to our fusebox, liked it so much that they said they would be recommending it to other customers of theirs who will be installing pools. The only issue, whatsoever is the initial setup. I was having trouble with my iPhone, however, my wife has an android, Pixel 7, and I tried on her phone when I was about ready to give up & it was super easy to set up on her phone. Once it was on her phone, it was then very easy to set up on my iPhone. I did email support a couple of times, but it seemed as though they were not comfortable with English & any communication was very frustrating. That said, someone created a great product here! I do highly recommend it!
Review: Doesn't work - tried 2 units and cannot even get wifi to connect... - ***update 8/8/2020*** After struggling to get 2 different units working, I purchased a GE unit (https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B00YTCZZF0/) and swapped it in place of the Dewinwils unit. No change to the wiring at all. As soon as the GE unit kicked on I was immediately able to connect it to my SmartThings hub, and had instant control over the device. The GE unit is considerably more money, but let me tell you this - it worked right out of the box, no fuss. The Dewinwils unit doesn't look ready for prime time. To be fair, they finally did reach out to me by email, but the entire troubleshooting regimen they prescribed I had already done exhaustively myself. I weighed out the benefits too - even if through exhaustive troubleshooting they were able to make it work, how often would I have to mess with it in the future to keep it running. No thanks guys. Please work on the out-of-the-box experience, so many people in the reviews here complain of having to vigorously troubleshoot to get and keep their units running, that isn't going to fly - especially for a device to enable automation! We want this stuff to work every time! I'm usually very patient when it comes to electrical wiring projects like this, but this one has me ready to give up. I ordered this item to power my pool pump, which is a Hayward 1 horsepower 120 volt pump. By all means this unit checks all the boxes I'm looking for in a pool timer, I just cannot get it to work. The wiring for this thing is simple enough, and I don't think there is anything wrong with my wiring connections. As soon as I apply power to the device, the Wi-Fi light starts flashing and I attempt to connect my cell phone to it to begin setup. As soon as I establish the initial connection the Wi-Fi light goes out, and my phone drops the connection immediately. Afterwards the Wi-Fi light will come on and stay on solid, and then it will begin flashing and then it will go out and it keeps doing this over and over and over again. I cannot maintain a connection to this device for more than a second or two, so I can never complete the setup. The manual power button will work to turn the pump on only when the Wi-Fi light begins flashing. Within seconds the Wi-Fi light turns off, the pump will run for about 5 Seconds and then shuts off. I can turn the pump on with the manual power button anytime the Wi-Fi light is flashing, but when the Wi-Fi light is solid or when the Wi-Fi light is off the manual power button does nothing. I'm frustrated and cannot seem to figure this thing out at all. I emailed support but they haven't responded to me in days. I want this thing to work, but I am losing hope. If I can't figure it out in a day or two I'm putting it back in the box and sending it back.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this handle a 240v 5,500 watt water heater? 25-30 amps on each of the 2 legs?**
A: If you look at one of the photos of the inside cover, it shows 40A @277 Resistive load.
So "YES" it will for a water heater

**Q: If you want to separately control a pool pump and a pool heater can two of these be installed and then be controlled separately from the app?**
A: Can confirm. there are two switched outputs. Both outputs are controlled by the app together not separately. Switch on both outputs come on, switch off both outputs go off. Would be nice if the app controlled both outputs separately.

**Q: If i want to control 4 devices with this, how many units do i need? pool pump (220v), pump for sheers (220v), pool cleaner (220v) and pool light (120v**
A: It is possible to have this control two circuits. But, both circuits will be on or off at the same time based upon the timer. There is no way to say turn on circuit 1 but leave circuit 2 off or turn on #2 at a different time.

You need to have the first circuit bridged to the terminals to provide power to the timer circuits. You will need to bring in a primary and neutral (or secondary) for the first circuit (that which will power the timer) and at least a primary for the secondary circuit. You will return a switched primary for each of the two circuits.

You should be able to get away with only two controllers, if your devices will be OK working in pairs.

As an example, I use mine to turn on my primary and cleaner pump and run them at the same time.

But, if you need independent control over each device, which I'm not sure would be the case for some of these, then you would need up to 4 of these controllers. I'd combine the pool pump and cleaner pump as they likely always work together, but not sure what the pump for sheers would need to do and whether it would need to be on at the same time as the pool light.

Short answer: at least 2, probably 3 if standard setup and possibly 4 if fully independent control is required.

**Q: Shows both nc & no set of contacts - is that correct? looking to wire my dual speed pool pump so that it's always running, nc = low, no =high**
A: The item can only turn the device on/off.
It can not adjust the speed of your device.
If you need a wiring diagram for your device, please tell us the specification of your device.
Please contact us via support@dewenwils.com with a detailed description, our customer service team will solve it for you as soon as possible.
