The last electronic one I bought lasted about 2 months if that and I am still not so sure if I ever actually got a correct temp. reading on that electronic one. It has not been as hot as usual for August here in NC but more hot days are coming and my new thermometer will read about 90 degrees by noon and has gone up to 98 degrees on a few days. That is just way too hot to sit in your bedroom. Just sitting at my desk on the computer with my shirt off when it is that hot, the sweat just rolls off of you. It is miserable so I had to buy a big 16 inch reversible window fan so I can pull the heat out and then pull fresh air in. I have to keep my bedroom door closed at all time because those cats will not only destroy everything but make a mess in the floor, not using the litter box and I just cannot have that, I draw the line there and the cats have already destroyed the rest of the house.
