Would it really be too hard for a capable 8 year old to build?** A: In all reality any person who can follow instructions can build any one of our LEGO sets. For this set the recommended age range is 12+ because of the play value in this set. Most 8 year olds are looking for sets that can be crash-and-smashed or can play out a battle/story. On the play functionality spectrum, this set is closer to being a display piece rather than an action set. With that being said it is a great set for a focused 8 year old who is looking for a Christmas themed LEGO set. For many families this is a set they build together every year. We have actually released a new Winter Village LEGO set every year for the past 7 years. **Q: does it come with imtructions?** A: Yes, it comes a detailed instructions **Q: Would this still be too difficult for and eight year old and a parent to build together?** A: My grandson put it together on Christmas eve last year. He was just turning 10 at the end of December. So I think with help an 8 year old would do just fine. It is a nice set and fun to build. **Q: Import taxes are included in the final price? They came out with the holiday train this year and I decided I must have it to go around the Cmas tree. After putting it together, I got the bright idea to add a "village" of sorts and wanted to catch up on the older sets. Most are out of what I want to pay but this was still pretty reasonable, not too far above the original selling price and super cute. It took a little effort to get the two "shop" pieces to fit together and I wondered if I had put it together incorrectly or if it just was a design flaw, but it finally worked out.
