Even after painting, It seems to still leave spots where applied** A: You need to paint the repair with primer first if it's bigger than 1/2" wide to ensure you don't see a flat (vs satin, etc) spot afterwards. **Q: Will this work on plaster that had chipped off wall?** A: It absolutely works on plaster! If the wall has more of a shallow chip then you may need to use a flat edge to create that surface. You can use the cap edge or you can get a drywall knife to set it on the wall. I often use nails on my dry wall home, or am always putting holes in my wall for one reason or another. And this will do the trick just fine. I love it and I’ve bought it about 5 times already. Pros: 1) cheaper than a worker 2) nice stick design, feels like a functionality of a glue stick. Even a child can use it. 3) easy to use 4) could last you about 3+ months if you use it moderately 5) easy to clean (with water) Cons: 1) only works for small holes and or even medium size holes. Think screws. 2) if someone punched a hole in the wall, this wouldn’t be the ideal tool. 3) you do tend to use a lot of it if the hole is big, which uses most of the product 4) if left uncapped, the material dries out. Making it practically unusable unless you wet it with water. 5) wish it was bigger for the price Overall: highly recommend.
