I found them to actually be quite easy to install by putting them on one side of the rail, and then push them over and onto the other side with my thumb. They may or may not make a clicking sound indicating they are mounted properly, but you will feel them seat properly if you do it right. I also found that using a standard bottle opener on most knives these days will easily disconnect the clips. The nicest part is the several clips that have the wire connector, and the hold down connector on the clips to help with remote switches for lasers and flashlights you might mount on the rails. This is definitely worth the minor expense, and makes the rails look good while preventing you from rubbing your hands raw from handling the weapon by the rails. Very nice, very low economical. The only issue I had, was I had too many of the clips for my weapon, so I gave the remainder to a friend for his weapon - paying it forward to another is never a bad thing, right? Rifles, pistols, staplers, coffee cups. You know the drill. Anyway, while the rails are great for hanging all sorts of equipment on your gear, I call the rails DNA scrapers. And, most of the time most of the DNA being scraped off is mine.So I like to put IndexClips on the rails to keep my DNA where it belongs, on me.I recommend using a non-marring tool to put the clips on and take them off, although whatever works is a right answer too. The instructions are clear and concise so if you follow the instructions you won't have any issues. Probably.Do these things hang onto the rails? Heck yeah! They're great. I haven't had one unexpectedly pop off yet. YMMV, however. I really think how well these perform has a lot to do with how well the rail and the clips fit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrific alternative protective cover for picatinny rail! *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021* The media could not be loaded.  My interests in this review are with the customer. It can sometimes be frustrating to find a product that is sold as advertised. The LaRue Tactical clips did not disappoint! They are a great value for money. I bought them because I wanted coverage for my rails when accessories were attached. Many 1-piece rail covers do not make this possible. Some covers with metal will also scratch your rail system. LaRue is a fantastic choice.Below are my observations:They do not scratch the finish on your rails and fit very snuggly (durability, sturdiness)They can be removed easily with a pair of scissors (rest closed scissor blades on opposing rail with scissor tip slightly underneath the clip you're removing and apply slight pressure upwards until the clip pops out of place. Too much scissor under the clip = possibly scratching your rail. And too little = a small smudge on the clip. You'll figure out the right amount of scissor to use quickly and can also use an Allen wrench)You only need to remove a few of them to install an accessory unlike many 1-piece protective rail coversDon't let pictures fool you. The plastic does not feel rough or scratchy on your hand.
