I have it sitting on my mantel in my kitchen and would prefer it to be a little longer and taller (width for a my mantle is perfect - it's 4.5" deep) but I knew the dimensions prior to purchasing and can take no stars off on that account. I like the ivory distressed face, the magnetic backing that holds 1 AA battery (I've changed the battery once in a little over 6 months. It keeps time perfectly and is silent. We just switched to DST and needed to change the time. Impossible to get the back off. Finally after a few attempts with screwdrivers and pliers I used the handle of the pliers through the hole and gently worked around and gently lifted the back. Once you see it has some give just work your way around.
