**Q: How big does the sphere expand to?**
A: I don't know measurements but my sister and I (2 full grown women, 5'7 feet tall) were able to get inside at the same time on a dare. It was a gift for my nephew and it is rather amazing how large it expands to.

**Q: how big is it colapsed**
A: About one and a half the size of a basket ball.

**Q: When expanded,  is the circumference 4.5ft or is it the radius?**
A: The diameter is just over 4 feet.

So...I'm 18 and bought this thing...for myself. XD If I sit down inside of it there is a fair amount of room in it, and I'm 5,6. I took it to my little 8 year old sister's baseball practice and played with the kids with it. It scared me that it would break because the joints don't seem very strong, but they were crawling in it and everything, and we would push it back and forth. The ball would bounce a lot and the joints stayed put! Though a fairly large girl fell backwards and stepped on it and it cracked a piece, but that was most likely do to her twisting and putting a lot of weight on that one area. Still works like a charm! Excuse me while I go play in it like a fort!

All I can say is that I love this thing. My sons eyes light up when he see's this thing grow into this massive sphere. Highly recommend this for kids but make sure there is some supervision so they lock it into place correctly and not pinch their little fingers.
