The stitching on my bag is top notch double stitched and no frays. The zippers are good and strong and yes if you don't move the rain flap out of the way they stick. The straps and belt are way padded and feel nice don't forget to size it with the straps on the side of the waist belt. This makes a huge difference in the fit. in order for this bag to be sized since it does not have top straps on the shoulder straps you will have to let out the bottom of the shoulder straps. To take up the slack you need to cinch in the belt straps. It took me about 20 minutes to adjust the fit on the bag but once I did it was worth it. The material it is made out of is thick and rugged looks like it will last a good long while. The inside compartments material is much thinner but stitched well. I tried to pull as hard as I could and rip a seam to no avail they all held. The bag seems to be 50 liter but with all the pockets and straps it holds a lot. I bought this bag for the straps in the main compartment it made it a breeze to get my tent sleeping pad and clothes for two days in there with room to spare. the outside back compartment holds enough mountain hose food for three days along with trail mix and other snacks. the two side bags hold my ammo and navigation equipment. The radio pouch fits my baofeng with an extended battery perfectly and the other one fits my power bank. the back document area fit my solar panels just fine. What is the difference between a 3038 cubic inch and a three day?** A: Generally 3038 in3 or equates to 50~55liter capacity bag is viewed as capable of carrying all necessary items including food and water to be self contained for 3 days minimum. It is not generally accepted for a 3 day pack to be less than 50Liter capacity although some can argue its how you pack and prioritize so the bar has dropped to about 45L for some. Also critical for a 3 day pack/above 45L is the waist belt. It must be wide and adjustable and sit just above the hip bone to carry all the weight for long hikes which you might not find on day packs or 20~30L packs. **Q: How does this compare with the Maxpedition Vulture 2? ($100 cheaper)** A: This pack is $81.55. Is someone paying you $18 to "buy" a maxpedition Vulture 2? **Q: What is the total dimensions of the whole shebang FULLY LOADED... pls?** A: Not counting the side pouches, about 14 x 13 x 20.5 **Q: Can it be used as a carry on(commercial airplane)?** A: It can be used as a carry on, but only if you only partially fill it. Perfect for a Survival Pack. *by T***R on January 13, 2013* This bag is much larger than I thought it would be. For the price, I was hoping it really was as good as the other reviews I had read. I have to say, I have no regrets getting this pack. It's going to be my primary BOB as well as my fall hunting pack. The canvas is very good quality and should be able to take a decent amount of wear. The side pockets are excellent and one of the main things that drew me to the bag; they fit a large amount in them alone. The lower compartment is also excellent. I have mylar blankets and a large wool blanket in the compartment, and I could fit more. There are small mesh pockets in this area as well. The main compartment is huge, and has straps inside, so items remain snug. I've just ordered a single 3L bladder and if I still have room, I'll buy another. The smaller compartment is also rather large, with many interior pockets. Many molle connectors make for easy add-ons. The bag is extremely comfortable for me (I'm 6'1''), and has lots of padding in the areas you need it. The only cons I can initially see are that the stitching might not be as tight as some of the higher priced bags. Time will tell if it holds up or not, though you'd probably have to beat on it for quite awhile to run into a problem. Also, the pockets in the interior make a lot of noise; like they're made of a crinkly vinyl-acrylic material....Not a big deal though, as I doubt you'd be rummaging through it in a stealthy situation. I'd definitely buy this bag again if I had to do it all over.
