As I read the book I noticed this several times like with Myoshi

*by H***8 on Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2015*

I have had this book sitting on my self for a little while and finally got around to reading it. A lot of what was promised to be in the story was glanced over such as the impact of Leanna's condition or the cultural differences for the various races. There was not even a scene where Leanna had a break down of culture shock. I think that this goes back to the writer in that he does not want to push himself. As I read the book I noticed this several times like with Myoshi. She is clearly not comfortable with Leanna and will break up with her, but instead gets reassigned instead and in another case Leanna says she is hypersensitive and can not wear a the top to her clothes, but has a special top for when she do or nobody objects to her walking around with no top.One of the biggest examples of what the writer missed in his own story was that his main character had more backstory that would have been a great opportunity to tell and fill in the gaps. Leanne was a spy and that in itself would have been great fodder to use for the story or to stretch it out into it's own series. Especially when it came to how she was able gather everything she needed at the start of the book.

    Disappointed

*by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2016*

As I read the beginning of this book I felt like I was getting the chance to read a great novel full of unique twists and unimaginable creativity. Well after the first chapter that quickly fell. [spoiler warning] The rest of the story after Leanna is rescued is boring and lacks any substantial plot. I originally picked this up in the hopes that reading something completely different from my normal selection would elicit some creative ideas for my own writing. I was, of course, horribly mistaken. I'm not unfamiliar to the furry community and have read some fan fic's in the past and I must say that those hastily written fan fics hold up better in both character and romantic development than More Terrible Than Chains. Speaking of the title, I thought that it was quite clever but also disappointed that more wasn't done with it. Another point about why this is not a good story can be found in another review and it reads, "The conflicts that arise chapter by chapter are uninteresting and conclude quickly."In short, if you want an example of how to NOT write a novel then look no further.

    Always loved Bernard Doove

*by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2018*

So I read that book pretty fast. You could say I ate it almost from the beginning to the end. So it would be fair to say that I loved it. Bernard Doove never disappointed me when it came to his world of Chakat that he describe so well. This story focus more on a slave that was found by our favorite characters. Her struggle to trust again and other hurdles of everyday life. It was a good read and I was happy with it.
