I found that it did disolve the scabs and cleaned-off the smelly residue that was weeping from the skin area being attacked by the rash. Unfortunately, after about 18-20 weekly bathings, the skin disorder was NOT really disappearing. This weird rash moves from place to place all over this big dog's coat, in dime-size to silver dollar-sized patches, temporarily thinning the fur, or balding the area it concentrates on. After trying diet changes to address the possibility it being a food allergy induced rash, and having no luck with this Keratolux, the vet recommended trying a different shampoo, Malaseb. I found Malaseb shampoo to be fairly effective at actually eliminating most of, but unfortunately not 100% of, the disorder. They both suffer from allergies and are prone to dry skin and the "itchies" Giving them a bath with this is like taking a Xanax! They are so calm and happy afterward, and the shampoo really does help their skin! My little has very sensitive skin. The groomer once gave him a bath in flea shampoo (against my specific request) and his skin just oozed blood afterward.
