No, they are cheap Chinese metal that look like a quality product, but are just cheap. I installed the nut on the threaded end with a 3/8" socket wrench, should have used a 1/4" stubby. Just by hand holding the unit I was able to snap the threaded end clean off with a little torque. The 'metal' on the inside looks like a lava rock (full of holes) and is generally what is referred to Chinesium. Good thing it comes with 2 in the package. It's almost like they expect you to break one since nobody needs two of these in a car. I was hoping to keep a second for a spare, had no idea I would need it on the first day.
