If you haven't read Reign the Earth yet and you like YA fantasy, you really should pick it up. The world is so well developed and the characters are realistic and flawed and damaged and hopeful and loyal and I just love these books so much. This one was slightly less intense than the first but no less interesting or important. A lot of people I've talked to like this one even more but I think the first is still my favorite. Overall, it was a fast paced book with strong and interesting characters. The elemental magic is really well done and fun to learn about and I was a big fan of the romance in this one. It's just a really great fantasy series that has a lot going on and doesn't sugar-coat or write down to teens. These characters face a lot of challenges and run into a lot of gray areas in terms of good vs bad, right vs wrong and it was really interesting to watch how they worked it out. Or didn't. It's pretty fast-paced and easy to get through but also thought-provoking and I really can't wait to read more from this series. If you like epic fantasy or elemental magic or fantasy with romance, check out this series! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic sequel *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2019* I'm a huge AC Gaughen fan, and still Imprison the Sky surpassed my expectations. I was initially a little sad to leave Shalia's perspective, but I was immediately drawn in to Aspasia's story and was thrilled with Kairos's appearance and how this book tied everything together. Gaughen is a master at drawing complex characters, and watching Aspasia wrestle with her physical and emotional scars as she searched for freedom in a broken world was so compelling.
