Clan Arthur! The sword is heavy-duty and beautifully engraved! My husband had to carry the box into the house as it was a bit heavy for me. He was SO excited! He knew it was his Anniversary gift. But, he didn't know what it was! lol. He was like a little kid on Christmas morning as he opened it! OMG!! His eyes lit up just like a little one too! I'd highly recommend the sword to anyone who has a collection. It's not sharp enough to hurt anyone. Though, if you used it like a baseball bat... it is heavy enough to knock them out! lol. Talking balance, sturdiness and the like** A: I purchased these swords purely for wall display and they look great. They are heavy and sturdy so I believe you can achieve balance and sturdiness . If you strike against other sword they look like they should handle the stress. **Q: How long is the blade from point to hilt? Is it a full-tang?** A: About 36 inches. It is a beautiful sword with inscription s and some scroll work on the blade! **Q: Could it stand up to medium abuse? Not hitting rocks or trees, but slashing thick cardboard targets, etc...** A: Yes it could. It is well made and sturdy enough to withstand card board targets and perhaps targets that are a but more solid. **Q: Is the blade a DULL finish or polished?** A: The blade is polished and shiny, almost like a mirror finish. The blade isn't sharp, but you can't tell that it isn't sharp just by looking at it.
