Can also be used on other CNC routers on control software that support a probe with the standard .100 (2.54mm) connector spacing. The probe supports 4 different types of probing XYZ (otherwise known as corner probing), X (to find the left edge of your material), Y (to find the front edge of your material), and Z (to find the top of your material. Can be used on Nomad 883 Pro as well, but this will require removing or rewiring the tool height sensor. Since that connection is also plugged into the 2 pin PROB connector. The kit includes aluminum probe plate a 60” cord to connect to the control board and 10 inch wire alligator clips. It's half the price of the carbide model, but works identically to it. I like using carbide motion for my controller and this works flawlessly when zeroing the x, y, and z axis on my Shapeoko 3XXL. You can zero all three together, or only one axis if needed. The only tight squeeze I had was plugging the ground and the power wires to the control board. The plastic heads were very hard to slide on, but not because of this product, but because the plastic heads from the shapeoko wire harnesses seemed slightly too wide and were already crowding the space that these two wires had to connect to. I was just gentle and got everything hooked up with no trouble. It is a Time saver, but more importantly it gives me the precision I've been looking for on my projects Review: This company cares about the customer. The new version works flawlessly. - Maybe it's my ShapeokoXXL motherboard, but I connected it onto the probe connector like the post shows and it's intermittent. I ruined a project the first time I used it, so I tested it. I can get it to probe the Z but it doesn't work on the X and the Y. Is the aluminum block coated with something?? so disappointed that this didn't work for me. I guess i'm going to shell out 120 for the Carbide one. Bummer Seller- I made sure my shapeoko XXL grbl software was the latest and greatest and I also made sure my Carbide Motion was up to date. Just an FYI, the Carbide Touch probe ($120) actually uses a different header (3-pin - as it has an LED and needs 5v). I used the header that is shown in your picture and is labeled 'probe'. Maybe this older probe header is disabled on the newest Shapeoko XXL. Since i don't know the pinout of the new header, I didn't want to chance plugging your touch probe in it. This is the only thing I can think of because all this thing does is toggle a bit. Also note, the 120 dollar Carbide touch probe only works with the latest carbide motion (416) and latest GRBL firmware (1.1), so makes me think, the old header has been disabled in software. What tolerances was this manufactured to?** A: When I used my digital calipers and took various measurements I saw between 0.001-0.0005 variation in thickness. I didn’t check for parallel. It has worked really well and repeatability is not an issue for me. **Q: What are the dimensions of block?** A: The outer dimensions of the block are about 2.4" x 2.4" x 1" (60mm x 60mm x 25mm). **Q: will this work with the x-carve** A: From a purely hardware perspective, yes this will work with an X-carve. However if you are using Easel for your control software this block does not have the same dimensions as the invetables Z-Probe kit, so it won't work with the probing routine built into easel. If you are using some other software, like UGS, then this block could be used along with creating a custom probing routine. (G38.2) **Q: I know the millright mega v cnc is very new any information about this will work with that unit?** A: I don't know. However, what may help you is that there is a 3 pin connector on this. 1 pin for power, 1 for ground and 1 for the sense. These probes are VERY simple in that, when plugged in, the software looks for a low (ground) on the probe sense pin(on the controller board) when the routing bit touches the metal (grounded) case. If you can find out if the Mega V probe sensor works this way, this *should* work.
