Review: Great lock which had potential to become awesome. - We purchased this lock for the office. The installation was a breeze. Took half an hour including removal of the old one (and could probably take even less if I didn't get distracted along the way). The installed lock looks great and works as expected - keeps the door locked when needed and unlocks when authorized person unlocks it. Fingerprint reader works great - pretty fast and pretty reliably (so far I had to make the second attempt only once, and even then it's just extra 3 seconds) so I'm happy with the performance so far. HOWEVER, there are two things that could (and I think should) be improved: 1) and foremost - access log export. It's probably unnecessary for home use, but for the office it's a must have feature. Having the log in the app is great, but not enough when it comes to investigating a security breach. That shouldn't be too hard to implement either. 2) access log synchronization with the app. The log from the lock only gets synchronized to the app when I OPEN the app. It should be pushed to the app as soon as my phone with enabled Bluetooth gets within the range (the way it works, for example, with my Fossil smart watches - my sleep data gets pushed to the phone app as soon as the phone is in range). And if the log has any new records I should be notified (or add customizable notifications). Overall, I'm satisfied with this lock and if at least the first feature is added I'll be a happy camper and will probably even add the wifi dongle to our setup. On a side note - I spoke to the customer support before I ordered the lock and they were knowledgeable and helpful. I hope they are as good when it comes to resolving issues (which I hope I will never figure out for myself).

What I like about this entry door lock, it will lock automatically when closing my door, the setup was simple since I have to set up the door lock through my smartphone device. This will work with Apple iOS or Android devices. But I have to download the app to my smartphone. I also like the design of the screen to enter the security code. The door lock will mix up numbers in order to confuse a person attempting to enter. But I always enter my room using the fingerprint scanner rather then entering the passcode. I can set up the door lock to either unlock the door lock using a passcode or the fingerprint scanner. Overall, I am very happy purchasing this door lock. The installation was simple. However, the device works with 4 AA batteries. But I will be alerted through my notifications when the batteries are running low. I do strongly recommend to give this entry door lock a try. But I would buy this entry door lock on a sale price.

**Q: Does this lock connect to a wifi router?  if not, how does it "track as soon as your ... family members are home" and send push notifications?**
A: The lock does not currently connect to the wifi at the moment, however, it does with our WiFi Hub, which releases in January 2019.  By using eKeys, family members and trusted users can unlock the door using their iOS or Android app, and when they do so, the record is saved on the app for you to review anytime.

**Q: Can i get more rfit carsd**
A: Yes, you can, please reach out to our customer support at 669-500-8835 and they can help you place an order for additional RFID cards.

**Q: How far does the bluetooth reach? I want to be able to open the door with the app from about 30ft away**
A: Hello!
Using the basic and the plus version of the lock, it only has the standard bluetooth range of 10-15 ft. If you want to have a feature in which you can control the lock  anywhere and anytime you wanted to using the application, I advise you to purchase the Pro version which includes the WiFi Hub that allows you to have remote control over the lock and have a real-time notification of door access. Plus the fact that you will be having much savings than purchasing the Lockly Secure Plus  and the Wifi Hub separately.

**Q: Can this lock be bumped or picked?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Two Important Install Notes!

Received this lock and was impressed on how well it was not only built but packaged to boot. To some the install might look a bit daunting but if you use the BILT app (instructions upon opening box advise you on how) it's actually very straightforward and easy to install. I have a read a few reviews where people say the unit is loose and doesn't appear to be built well. I couldn't disagree more. It seems to be built extremely well and I would argue if it appears anything less the install wasn't done properly. One issue I did run into was upon initial install the outer handle wouldn't turn the spindle and engage the latch to allow the door to open regardless if it was locked or not. After installing it and reinstalling it and having the same issue, I started to become frustrated and called Lockley customer service. Their customer care was very prompt and professional and immediately had a solution for me. You simply go into settings and hit "calibrate". The lock calibrated itself for about a minute and worked perfectly fine after that. Figured I'd add this as the rep told me it's a common issue. Hoping this saves some of you some frustration and potentially returning it should you feel it is defective. Lastly, as far as the operation goes, I have read some reviews on the fingerprint scanner itself not working perfectly. I have not had an issues with mine. On initial setup, the app will give you the option of a "deep scan" once you set up your initial print. I highly recommend doing this as it makes it much easier for the lock to recognize your print. Also I noticed to apply just the very tip of your finger when unlocking versus the tip and middle part of the print. Doing this assures it will unlock it first attempt just about every time.
