The gentle leader is a positive training tool to improve your dogs walking as well as take strain off the pet owner. As a dog walker I use this training tool with my large Rhodesian ridgeback and even small size dogs like miniature schnauzers and beagles. Fit for all sizes. May not work with shorter snout dogs like pugs, frenchies, pekingese, boxers, etc. please note this is not a muzzle and the dog can open their mouth, eat, and bite with a gentle leader on this is only to stop the dog from pulling
Review: No pull - This is the only no pull option that works for my dog, and we've tried it all. We worked on no pull training right away when he was a puppy and used a similar method along with positive reinforcement training to keep him from pulling but the leash was short and it was hard to keep up with. This allows him more freedom to move around while on leash and it seems to be a little more comfortable for him. He still tries to pull when there is something he wants but he can't pull as hard and his head turns so the pulling isn't productive, in time I think he'll learn to stop that all together. The lead is easy to put on him and seems sturdy enough, I wouldn't let him chew it at all though.

Second one for my ridgeback because it is adjustable even the size large I use so much to help other pet owners that she needed a fresh one of her own. Highly recommend and great quality. This is the only no pull option that works for my dog, and we've tried it all. We worked on no pull training right away when he was a puppy and used a similar method along with positive reinforcement training to keep him from pulling but the leash was short and it was hard to keep up with. This allows him more freedom to move around while on leash and it seems to be a little more comfortable for him. He still tries to pull when there is something he wants but he can't pull as hard and his head turns so the pulling isn't productive, in time I think he'll learn to stop that all together. The lead is easy to put on him and seems sturdy enough, I wouldn't let him chew it at all though.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't Give Up If Your Dog Doesn't Take To It At First

When I first tried this on my dog, she did nothing but rub her nose and have a fit trying to get it off. I spent about a week, putting in on her for short periods, giving her treats, trying to make this leader associated with positive experiences. It just seemed like it wasn't going to work for her so I set it aside. Last week, I got it out again, put it on her, gave her a treat, and immediately took her outside for a walk. It worked! This time she accepted it. Other than a moment here and there, she is doing great with this and no more pulling. It's like walking a completely different dog. I should add, that I had skipped her walk for almost two weeks (a very long time for her). She had gotten to the point that her front-clip harness wasn't a deterrent anymore, so I thought I'd just take a break. After not going for her daily outings for so long, she was more than happy to mostly ignore the gentle leader and focus on smelling all the great things she'd been missing out on. Now we are back to our daily walks. The biggest difference being that I am having fun on the walk too, now that I don't have to spend so much energy working on her behavior. I do still put a harness on her in case I need to grab it for additional control (which is rare) but I only attach the leash to the head lead. I have a leash with a lighter clip on it for that. The leash clip that attaches to the harness is much thicker and heavier. All I can say is .... Gentle Leader for the win-win!! SAFETY TIP UPDATE: A couple times, I've had near-escape incidences, both indoors at the vets office thankfully. Once, the leash somehow became unclipped and another, she pulled the lead off her face. Now, to ensure a double-attachment, I put the leader on as usual, then I use a carabiner to secure the base of the leash clip to the loop in her collar. This way, should she get the leader off again or the leash become unclipped, the leash will still be connected to her collar. (see attached photo showing left/right side comparisons showing both parts of what I've described) I find that this setup does not cause any issues while walking nor stop the effectiveness of the leader.
