The quality of the sound it phenomenal.  Combined with your HTC phone the loudness is adequate for a small to medium sized room.  However, what strikes me about this item is the quality of the sound.  Truly superb.  As a plus it pairs to the phone quite easily, although it should be noted that this is really just for HTC phones.  (My son uses it with his M8, although I read that it is great with the M9 as well.)

The seller did not state that it doesn't work with the HTC 10. Very disappointed. It connects as the only audio device turning off the phone speakers, which defeats the purpose of a bass speaker. Wish the seller told us in his product description.

The HTC Boombass gives a needed bass boost to music, but is not as loud as stand alone bluetooth speakers.  The bad news is that there is a quarter second delay between the phone speaker and the boombass speaker which is extremely annoying for audio books.  For music the delay is acceptable because it just gives a little bit of a downbeat, mellow feel to the music.  For voice it sounds like an echo chamber and it's just not ok.
