No grazzano beans listed in the ingredients in my identical bottle as shown here. **Q: What is the source of the bovine spleen that this is derived from? Is it from "organic" or factory-farm cows?** A: It does not say. **Q: What is the elemental iron content of this product per dose?** A: I do not specifically recall, and I don't have a bottle to hand. However, I do recall it being significantly less than an iron supplement (most iron supplements are up around 65mg of iron/tab, I'm thinking this was down around 5mg/cap.)The point of this supplement isn't iron, tho - it's about increasing the protein that is used to transport and store iron. My wife has been taking this concurrent with an iron supplement (elemental iron on the advice of a physician, ferritin with the knowledge of a physician, lab orders followed,) without incident **Q: I have normal-high iron levels but low ferritin. Will this affect my overall iron levels or just Ferritin?** A: My answer is ... I don’t know. I also have normal-high iron levels, but I haven’t checked ferritin level. I take ferritin whenever restless leg syndrome happens. This is the only one that does not cause undesirable side effects for me. I think the only thing that bothers me about this supplement is that Cardiovascular Research appears to be the only company in the US that produces and sells an actual ferritin supplement. I find this very strange because I cannot think of another supplement where this is the case. This was a red flag for me, because an iron supplement that doesn't cause constipation and raises blood serum ferritin levels is a big deal (it's like having a better mousetrap), so you would think all the big supplement companies would get in. There are so many companies out there and they are very aggressive about jumping into new and popular lines of supplements. But not this one. Why? I have no clue and I'm still trying to figure it out. Where are the big mainstream supplement companies? Solaray, Solgar, Vitaminshoppe, Source Naturals, Natrol, Twins Lab, the list goes on and on. So this is a big red flag for me. But I was desperate so I tried it anyways and IT DOES WORK. It raised my blood ferritin levels and also my blood serum iron , TIBC, and UIBC levels. With no side effects.
