**Q: what product did you use to give the color you want , after the conitioner dried?**
A: When I start a project I try to stay with the same manufacturer and use either oil or water base products based on their recommendations. I generally use oil based stains after conditioning because most times there is less sanding after application. I never start with oil conditioner and then use water products after that.

**Q: I already stained something and want to apply another coat to darken but it keeps getting blotchy. I tried sanding with no success. Will this help?**
A: Sand, sand, sand.  Then sand some more up to at minimum 240 grit.

**Q: Can i use a water based polyurethane over this oil based wood conditioner?  Thank you!**
A: Yes. Allow at least 72 hours after applying conditioner before applying Varathane. Varathane is vary temperature and humidity sensitive. If you can not comply with the temperature etc. requirements stated in the directions, please telephone rust-Oleum for advise or do not use poly-urethane.

**Q: Hd guy gave me this with my water based stain and didn't realize until after using .. can i still use water based stain or no?**
A: Yes you can

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must needed item for staining

This item is hard to find in stores in California, specifically from this brand. This was used for a woodstain wash on a staircase handrail that was painted white by the previous owners. We tried to stain the wood without it after sanding the rail and it did not work out well. This made the difference and the color applied so much better. I never stained wood before so this is coming from someone with zero experienc. It came out looking professional. It is easy to apply. We saved ourselves hundreds in updating our outdated handrail.
