Otherwise these are the same product. **Q: Are the safety features sufficient for the backyard mechanic?** A: I'm a backyard mechanic and I've used them and feel comfortable with them. I understand your concern because I've felt it too. The thought of one of those springs getting loose all of a sudden is scary. I got these because I've had other OEM tools and have been pleased with them. These are sturdy. All steel or cast iron. They are heavy. My experience with them is that I put them in place and they stayed in place. That said, a reasonable amount of suspicion is healthy. I don't put myself in harm's way if I can avoid it. Sometimes with these it can't be avoided and I'm ok with that.
