The hand-feel of the material was also very comfortable. I always feel uneasy holding "naked" phones -- they feel so inherently slippery. The case doesn't cover the screen, but there is enough of a "lip" around the front that if dropped flat on its face, the screen would not come in contact with the ground. You could use it with a screen protector and have no trouble, but I am not doing so currently. Getting one for my new phone, I was going to go for the original model, but figured I'd try the 'upgraded' version, and I am not disappointed. It feels just as comforting as the older version, but marginally less "sticky". I'm not typically someone who cares tremendously about color, but the indigo on my black phone is really nice. It's apparent enough that I won't reach for the wrong phone, but it is understated and subtle. The provided contrasting color optional button covers are also a neat inclusion.
