I was skeptical at first of the One Nine and was pondering a quick return to vendor due to no case. I rigged an old RX bottle to house the OneNine that works. Upon set up and use for 10 days and nights on all Bands in all conditions I was intrigued . I had a Ham friend stop by with an Antenna Analyzer and we hooked it all up to my 50 foot end fed long wire antenna that's about 30 feet off the ground and It resonated extremely well on all Bands, 10m-40m and shortwave as well. We tried it without the ground as some thought it's not needed for receive only, Trust me the Ground made a Huge improvement in reception and lowered the noise level. All in All, very satisfied with this product for my particular setup and region. Review: Huge shortwave reception improvement!!! - I have a Grundig G5 and had a length of 80’ +/-copper wire out the window just stretched out on the yard in the grass and it was decent. I’ve never used a balun or unun before so after some research I bought this. I used a 3.5mm jack to sma male to connect from the radio to the unun, attached the copper wire from the yard to the antenna side and ran another piece of copper wire to the ground side out to a ground rod and WOW is all I can say! I’m pulling in a lot more Shortwave signals than before. Loud, clear and a lot more to listen to. It may not be perfect to some or neat but it’s definitely made a significant improvement to what I was receiving. Will pick up a few more for future use. It’s definitely made a difference to where I want to research more and keep experimenting in the hobby. Wish I had purchased this way before now.
