Review: I love this LG Minibeam!!! - First impressions here. I will update later as I test all the functions, but out of the box and initial setup, highly impressive. This thing is light, small and easy to use. I was surprised by the number of settings, from picture quality, audio, sizing, volume, on and on. It has both auto settings for most functions, and the ability to tweak to your hearts desire if you like to fiddle. Casting my first screen, with sheer curtains on a bright California sunny day, it was a little hard to see. If you are going to buy this, it is mostly for nighttime/dark environments. However, I was impressed with the picture it did cast. It was big, bright (given the day conditions), colors were awesome and image quality was vivid. I can't wait for tonight!! The auto keystone feature is the best. You can set it to auto-adjust in a few seconds, or manually set it. I have mine mounted on a normal camera tripod, which I highly recommend. You can tweak the screen placement on the wall with the tripod easily, and it is very stable. You can also easily move it around if need be. Using the tripod, I flipped it up and onto the ceiling. Once the auto keystone function did it is thing, I had a movie playing above my head. This will be awesome to use while in bed. A couple of negatives; I have only tested the USB input, which works great. Just note, the Minibeam only accepts FAT32 and NTFS drive formatting. If you are using a MAC computer and work in large sized movies, that is kind of an issue. MACS can't write to NTFS, and FAT32 has size limitations of only 4gig. It unfortunately does not accept the exFAT format. Speakers are a little tinny, but I kind of expected that. There are a few settings for audio I have yet to try, but if you want great sound, expect to connect headphones or an external speaker. As noted here, it does not support Apple's Airdrop, but luckily I do have an Android tablet, so I will be testing screen sharing using my Sling TV and Kodi media player. Have not tested HDMI either, but will do so and report back. To sum up, excellent purchase at an even more excellent price thanks to desertcart's Prime Day!! Update: Still enjoying this device. Watched a couple of shows from the USB stick last night and the picture was HUGE and amazing in color and appearance. I did try to cast my screen Android Xperia Z3 compact tablet to Minibeam and it worked. It took a few tries, and I changed back and forth from the MInibeam's 2.4/5GHz signals and channels (yes, this thing lets you tweak channels) to get a good signal. Picture was awesome and I did not have any of the out-of-sync audio issues other reviews are reporting, but what I noticed after about 5 minutes, the picture started to lag on the Minibeam. It kept lagging about the same time period on each attempt, so I suspect maybe a cache issue or something inside the Minibeam. I finally gave up. So, buyer beware that screen casting via wifi may not work all that well. The user has to factor in their network situation, how many people are using the network, etc, so it is all subjective. I did try my Chromecast and my Macbook Pro on the HDMI port, and WOW.....really works well. Can't recommend the Minibeam enough!!
Review: A pretty good pico projector that is a step up from older models. - This is a pico projector with lower resolution and brightness compared to a full size projector, if you need a projector for large groups in a typical lit room pico projectors aren't for you. This is my second pico projector having owned the Samsung HP03 until it became unusable with the stuck DLP mirror issue. The Samsung was more of a novelty with its 30 lumen output and poor sharpness, it found very little use. This LG PV150 however can be quite usable if you can control the lights in the room. Video quality and color is good, the sharpness is even throughout the image unlike the Samsung whuch was soft at the edges. The buit in media player was able to handle 1080p videos, however it does not support DTS audio. Dolby Digital works fine as it is Dolby Digital Plus certified. The speaker is not very loud, about the same as a typical laptop but you have the headphone jack output to make use of headphones or external speakers. The remote is nice with all the settings accessible and buttons typically found in a full size projector remote. For displaying data like presentations from a computer you do run into the main limitation of this projector which is the low 854x480 native resolution. Small text can be hard to read and line graphics will be a bit jagged but it is usable in a pinch if you keep the projected image to a smaller size to get the better brightness and contrast. Most, if not all, modern laptops come with HDMI outputs so the lack of an analogue input should not be an issue. You will need an adapter if your computer has a smaller mini or micro HDMI port. I tried the wireless function with my Nexus 5 and it works fine. There is a a bit of lag though such that what appears on the projector is about a second delayed vs what is on the phone. As many other people have noted, wireless does not work with iOS devices. I have not run it on batteries enough to tell if the 2 hour claim is true. (UPDATE) Using the built in media player to play movies from a USB flash drive (x.264 encoded 1080P video) I get less than 1:20 minutes before it shuts off, I guess the decoding takes a lot of power. Overall I like it. As long as you are aware of its limitations in resolution and brightness I think you can find a use for it if portability is your top priority. I do wish LG included a case comapct HDMI cable and smaller power adapter to round things out seeing as they are marketing it as an Ultraportable Projector..

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have read that it doesn't work wirelessly with ios devices... However, does it work a Mac if using an hdmi cable?**
A: Not a wireless solution but here's how to connect to iOS by HDMI cable. You need the Lightning Digital AV Adapter by Apple if you have the lightning port. Costa around $49 here on Amazon (and most anywhere else). There is also a 30 pin version. The adapter has a port for HDMI and a port to charge the iPhone or iPad. Works great with the LG and mirrors your iPhone or iPad. I'd also get a flexible HDMI cable. Most HDMI cable are so stiff it can be hard to maneuver this tiny LG projector.

**Q: Does this have a Stand Connection on the bottom? ie... a Female screw port for a flexible tripod??**
A: There is a hole that can pierce up to 4.5mm to 5.5mm and you can use any kind of tripod.

**Q: Will this work with fire tv stick?**
A: yes

**Q: Is there a screw mount on the bottom for attachment to a tripod?**
A: it can be mounted to a tripod.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Projector for backyard movies with the kids
*by P***R on July 31, 2015*

I've wanted a projector for the longest time but with so many choices, the process was overwhelming and I just didn't want to deal with more complications in my life. But when I saw that this was released in May 2015 I figured it had all the latest technology and would try it out. My sole purpose was to watch movies in the backyard with the kids. And IT IS PERFECT. I am surprised at how well this thing works for being so tiny. I am not a technical person so cannot go into details about specs and screen ratios etc.... but I can see it works flawlessly and looks great. I have plugged it in as I did not want to risk a movie going dark prior to the end and the kids in an uproar so not sure on projector battery life. I took another commentor's suggestion and bought this adaptor thing to send the sound wirelessly via bluetooth to my Bose speaker: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P20TFWM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 and then I have an HDMI cable connecting the projector to a blue ray DVD player. I also got this outdoor screen which is SO EASY to assemble, you literally unfold the frame like an accordion and snap the screen onto the frame. I thought this was a great screen because of the freestanding legs....I could use this in our garage during the winter months: http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Screens-Yard-Master-100-inch/dp/B00MAPCZGA/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438347659&sr=1-9&keywords=outdoor+movie+screen One last thing about the projector stating the maximum image of 100 inches.... I shined this onto a wall and it must have been 300 inches and the movie was still watchable. This thing has changed summer nights in the backyard forever. First movie we watched: Jurassic Park.
