Review: As advertised - It works! Honestly I don't have much use for it other than a way to get data onto a device that doesn't allow USB storage or network connections or as a mouse jiggler, but it's fun! I configured it entirely through the guidance of Claude Code: it told me what packages to install (Arduino is required, the CLI works fine) and wrote a payload that worked flawlessly. This is a pretty well documented board and you should be able to find what you need with some simple googling, though Claude Code makes it trivial to get up and running quickly!
Review: Perfect - I have zero complaints about this product. I personally had some trouble reprogramming it in C++, but that was on my end—not the device itself. The build quality is excellent; it’s fully metal and feels solid and well-made. It does come preloaded with a simple script that opens Command Prompt, but it doesn’t type any commands, inject anything, or do anything malicious. Just a basic demo script. Overall, it works as advertised and feels like a quality product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: do I need to buy a Micro SD separately?**
A: No. This model doesn't have a Micro SD card slot.

**Q: Came with no instructions. Are there online instructions available?**
A: It's a rubber ducky. There are tutorials online (both in text format and in video format AKA YouTube).

**Q: Does this need Arduino drivers just on the programming computer, or also on the target machine in order to function as an HID and execute kenystrokes?**
A: You will need the Arduino IDE to program that BadUSB rubber ducky.... But you don't need it for the "victim PC"

**Q: How can I open the metal case (without destroying it) to get to the atmega32u4 inside?**
A: The cover for the PCB is pressed into a shell. It's either a rather tight fit, or glued. You may be able to pull it out with pliers if you're ok with damaging the contacts and possibly cracking the PCB. Ideally there is foam lining the top, so dremeling it with some time would most likely work. Sorry for the long winded and not quiet conclusive answer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect little packaged microcontroller
*by F***N on May 6, 2026*

Bought this to use with Control mapper on SimHub and it works perfectly! Love that it comes bundled in a ready to go flash drive. Like others said it does open the command prompt when first plugged in, but I believe this is just an example program preloaded on the USB. This product is named BadUsb, it's technically supposed to be used for nefarious purposes (e.g. you could program it to execute a script automatically when plugged in). Seems like they ship it with an example script that just opens the command prompt.
