Review: Reduces wiring mess at console power outlet - Overall, a good accessory to have. Keeps the USB plugs at the console free for my regular stuff. Most of the time needed to install the kit was finding a fuse that did not power off when the ignition was turned off. I wanted camera monitoring while the car was parked. Note that the fuse adapter is not marked to indicate which slot should have the larger amperage fuse. If you remove a 20 amp fuse, it needs to be inserted into the correct adapter slots or the 5 amp fuse provided with the power module will actually be in the 20 amp circuit......and a new 5 amp fuse will be needed when that seat heater is turned on! This takes a few minutes to figure out with an ohm meter or continuity light. Make sure your selected fuse is not a critical circuit like headlights, control computer, etc. Placing the wire under the interior trim and headliner edge to reach the mirror location was pretty easy in my car. Highly recommend placing the camera end of the wire at the camera location and checking the wire length along your planned wiring route to make sure the power module can be mounted out of sight. The installation prying tool that was provided with the kit was helpful, but having two helped with tight fitting trim pieces. I have a small kit of plastic trim prying tools from the local car parts place. An extra one came in handy. So far, module works fine. Will update. Update - module still working with no issues. A good option for a permanent camera installation.
Review: Not compatible with Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 - Product seems high quality. Installation was straightforward. I purchased this "single lead" kit for my Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 because I did not need or want the Parking Mode feature. I used an "Accessory" fuse. The dash cam worked fine, but I noticed it turn off after a few minutes, then back on a few minutes later, and then back on... Garmin (understandably) does not support 3rd party installation kits. They were not helpful except to point out in their literature that 3rd party cables are not compatible with Garmin products. I went ahead and bought the Garmin Parking Mode cable ($35) and installed it using Accessory fuses for both the battery (normally always powered) and Accessory leads as I do not want the device powered when the vehicle is off. So far, so good. No issues with the device cycling on and off. When you start the car, the camera comes on. When you shut the vehicle off, the camera is off. Not sure why the other cable kit didn't work with the Garmin, but I had issues. 5 stars, though, for what appears to be a good quality kit.

**Q: is that a left or right 90 deg adapter?  Looking at it pointing up, metal rounded side facing you, which way does the cable go?**
A: for a micro USB connection, there's a narrower and wider side of the connector. So if the connector was pointing upwards with the narrower side of the micro USB facing you, the cable goes to the left.

**Q: Why are there two fuse ports? Do you need to use both? If so, where does the fuse I pull out go and where does the included fuse go?**
A: The fuse included with the kit goes in the slot that is closest to the cable, while the fuse that comes from your car's fuse box goes in the slot closest to the metal prongs (that will be plugged back into the fuse box).

**Q: Do i have to crimp the wires? cause i'm not getting any power to my dashcam. i simple just inserted the wire to the adaptor. i'm confused and not sure**
A: No Crimping is needed. You simply figure out which fuse adapter you need for your vehicle type and connect it up. The adapter will replace a switched fuse in your fuse box (you need to figure out which one is best.) you pull the fuse, install it in the adapter, and then plug the adapter into the former location of that fuse. If the fuse you replaced is switched, then the device will only get power when the key is on, which I would assume is what you want.

**Q: Stopped working within a year (no power gets passed the small box convertor).  Anyone else have this problem?**
A: Mine is still working great. Have you checked the fuses to make sure they have not blown

Overall, a good accessory to have. Keeps the USB plugs at the console free for my regular stuff.
