So far so good, and there is no squeaking sound! Although it is easy to adjust, I agree with other reviews - it would be hard for a teacher to do so before each lesson if the children are different sizes. It works best if used for one child (otherwise, you will be on your knees often trying to adjust the pedal height). The extender is well-made. It is well constructed, but it takes too long to adjust to different heights for students at lessons.
