I use this mainly for pressing the excess water out of cucumbers when I want to make either pickles or cucumber salad. It's amazing how much crunchier the cucumbers get after spending a night in this thing. Mix some salt in with your sliced cukes and screw down the top piece. Easy peasy. Drain out the water a couple of times and screw down tighter. Some folks keep their veggies in here for a couple of hours. I usually keep them overnight or 24 hours. I really doubt you can overdo it. It's just so simple to use. Truly simple. And then results are fabulous. BOTTOM LINE: great gadget for pressing vegetables to get them crunchy. I mainly use it for cucumbers and zucchini because that's about the extent of my vegetable joy, but I am sure there are other veggies that would benefit. Review: Size too big for a person.
